Join the Johnson County Parks & Recreation District as they celebrate the outdoors while helping the Johnson County Sertoma Club launch its fund raising drive for the future Oak Ridge Lodge in Shawnee Mission Park. Plans for the former Mack family residence and surrounding parklands call for transforming the Ogg Road site into a one-of-a-kind community gathering point and a respite for hikers, cyclists, birders and all who love nature. The park addition will include multiple trailheads, magnificent views, and 100 acres of wildflower meadows and native prairie surrounded by 254 acres of hardwood forest.

Thank you for all that came out for Spiderfest 2011. You helped us raise over $2000 for the ERTA trail systems! The event keeps getting bigger every year. We would like some feedback on things that we could improve on to make the event better. I think the one improvement we can all agree on is DRY TRAILS, but we know we can do better in other areas, especially with more families attending. As with the trails this event is 100% volunteer driven and the price of admission - FREE is still a bargain. Tell us how we can make this more fun for 2012.

Join us for the 4th Annual Spider Fest 2011 Run, Walk, Ride and "Earn your Dirt" Raffle!

Saturday, August 20th at Smithville Lake, Sail Boat Cove Shelter

The ride, walk and run starts at 3:00 p.m. and food will be served up starting at 6:15 pm with the raffle to begin at 7:00 p.m. The festivities will end at 9:00 p.m.

The raffle tickets are priced at $5 each or 5 for $20.  You need not be present to win one ( or more) of the awesome prizes available.  

Spiderfest 2011 T-Shirt pre-orders.  We will have t-shirts available again this year for $15.  All proceeds go back into the trails.  Please order ahead of time since we will have limited numbers available the day of the event.  For $5 more you can have your shirt sent to you if you can't make it the day of the event.

Tickets will be available for purchase at Earth Riders events, group rides and of course at the Spiderfest right up until the raffle begins at 7 pm. To pre-purchase tickets send a check in the appropriate amount (see previous paragraph) no later than August 10th (to insure delivery of tickets via USPS) to:
